Britney Posts Birthday Wish On Facebook

Written by admin. Posted in Personal Issues

Dear Fans,

It’s that time of year again when we pause to reflect upon what we’re thankful for.

I’m thankful to have the most amazing fans in the world who have been there for me through everything!

December is a busy month for me.

My new album, Britney Jean, drops on 12/3.

My Las Vegas show, Britney: Piece of Me, kicks off 12/27 at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.

And, on 12/2 it’s my birthday!

This year, I’m doing something different for my birthday. I’m dedicating it to the kids of St. Jude.

Help me out by not buying me a gift this year. Buy them a gift instead — the gift of another birthday.

Why St. Jude?

Since opening in 1962, treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to 80 percent. Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing and food — because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.

That’s right: the best care in the world, for free, because of people like us. Now that’s something worth celebrating.

Let’s get this party started.

Love always, Britney

Judge Throws Sam Lutfi´s Case Against Britney Spears Out Of Court

Written by admin. Posted in Legal Matters, Personal Issues

Britney Spears and Sam LutfiBritney Spears‘ former confidante and self-professed manager failed to prove his libel and breach-of-contract claims against the singer’s parents and her caretakers, a judge who dismissed the case mid-trial ruled Thursday.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Suzanne Bruguera said an attorney for Sam Lutfi hadn’t proven any of his allegations in the case that centered on events before the singer’s public meltdown more than four years ago.

Lutfi’s side rested its case Tuesday, but Bruguera agreed with arguments by attorneys for Spears’ father and her conservators that there wasn’t sufficient evidence to send the claims to a jury.

Lutfi had sued Lynne Spears for libel and the singer’s father, Jamie, for allegedly hitting him at the singer’s mansion in an incident shortly before Jamie Spears and others were granted control over the singer’s life. Lutfi also had claimed he was owed a 15 percent share of the singer’s earnings, but Bruguera disagreed.

Lutfi left the courtroom without speaking to reporters, and attorneys on both sides of the case declined to comment.

The case centered on many of Britney Spears’ darkest moments, including a pair of psychiatric hospitalizations that led to her father being named her conservator. Her fiance, Jason Trawick, was added as a co-conservator earlier this year. The arrangement is overseen by a probate judge who had directed them not to allow the singer to appear at the trial.

Britney's Custody Settlement Details Surface

Written by admin. Posted in Custody Battle, Personal Issues

Less than eight months after an epic meltdown that led to a court taking away her children, Britney Spears is reclaiming her role as a mother — to the point where she may be with her boys nearly half the time.

Attorneys for the pop singer and ex-husband Kevin Federline reached an agreement Friday that allows Spears three visits a week from Sean Preston and Jayden James, including two overnights with potential for more. If all goes well, she could have 2-year-old Sean Preston and 1-year-old Jayden James roughly 40 percent of the time, her attorney, Laura Wasser, told The Associated Press.

The agreement not only increases Spears’ time with her sons, but also removed need for a trial scheduled for next month to resolve lingering visitation and financial issues.

The positive change on the home front comes as Spears’ career also seems to be rebounding. She is spending the summer working on a new album, recently taped an appearance that will be shown during Madonna’s upcoming tour, and made a couple of well-received cameos on the television show “How I Met Your Mother” earlier this year.

Spears’ increased involvement in her boys’ lives was almost unimaginable in January, when the 26-year-old twice had to be removed from her home by authorities and was committed to a psychiatric ward.

Federline was awarded full custody shortly thereafter and Spears did not see her sons for nearly two months.

Since then, Spears has gradually been granted longer visits. In late June, she was was alotted one overnight visit a week with her sons, Wasser said.

Spears will gain more overnight visits between now and the end of the year, Wasser said. The agreement also includes a “slight increase” in child support payments to Federline and covers his attorney’s fees.

“The fact is, it’s a win for the family,” Wasser said.

Federline’s attorney, Mark Kaplan, whose fees have been paid by Spears and have been the subject of disputes, also lauded the outcome Friday.

“This has been a long ordeal and to have that over is something that makes him extremely happy,” Kaplan said in a brief statement after the courthouse meeting.

The couple were married in 2004 and finalized their divorce last July and have wrangling over custody issues for several months since then.

Kaplan declined to discuss specifics of the agreement, which still needs to be filed to Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon. Gordon met with Wasser and Kaplan for more than 40 minutes Friday, but did not issue any rulings or take up the case in open court.

Friday’s agreement is fairly typical of custody disputes even if the parties are not, said Charlotte Goldberg, a family law professor at Loyola Law School in Los Angeles.

“The courts do like parties to agree to custody rather than go through a trial,” she said.

A trial would have almost certainly garnered throngs of reporters and photographers, which Goldberg said could have stymied Spears’ progress.

“I think for Britney’s sake, it would be better to avoid more publicity,” Goldberg said.

The scene Friday was in stark contrast to previous court appearances, when Spears has been mobbed by photographers and in one incident, set foot in the courthouse in cocktail party attire only to suddenly leave before attending her hearing.

The cameras came Friday. Spears did not.

Wasser said Spears has been motivated in recent months by her children and re-establishing her career, which eight months ago seemed to be as teetering as her personal life.

Her legal woes, however, are not over.

A hearing has been scheduled for July 31 about whether her father, James Spears, will continue to control her personal and financial affairs. Once that is resolved, a misdemeanor driving without a license charge can dealt with.

But Wasser acknowledged that Spears has come a long way in eight months.

“The difference from the beginning of this year to now is astonishing,” Wasser said.

Britney Shops For Baby Maddie

Written by admin. Posted in Personal Issues

Aunt Britney is taking her new title seriously.

The singer went shopping at the True Religion Warehouse with her mom Lynne on Friday—and Jamie Lynn’s little girl was first and foremost on her mind.

Britney specifically picked out items for her new niece, Maddie Briann, from the toddler collection. Everything from T-shirts and hoodies to jeans for the little girl, a source tells E! News. She also selected some similar clothes in boys’ styles for Sean Preston and Jayden James.

For herself, Spears picked up tank tops, T-shirts and jeans, to name a few. She loved True Religion’s new puffy jackets for fall, scooping up a vest and a hooded jacket, both in red. She also liked the headwear—she chose some baseball hats as well as a winter-weight fedora.

“She was very happy,” says the source. “She loved trying everything on. She looked great.”

According to a source, Britney did not mention Madonna or the video shoot she’s been busy with. She was focused on shopping and was very gracious.

“They had a great time—they thanked us when they left,” a source tells E! News. “They were very polite and sweet.”

After shopping, Britney and mother Lynne headed to ABH, the new rooftop hot spot at the Thompson Beverly Hills Hotel. The mother-daughter duo munched on sushi rolls and sipped soft drinks from Bond St., the restaurant downstairs, along with an assistant and bodyguard.

“Britney was very mellow, normal, grateful and sweet to staff,” an onlooker tells us.

Britney's Progress Over The Last Few Months & Album News

Written by admin. Posted in Comeback, Personal Issues

Six months ago she was forcibly strapped to a stretcher and placed on psychiatric hold in two different hospitals.

A judge cut off all contact with her two toddler sons.

Her “Blackout” album failed to go platinum as a deafening papaparazzi circus took the place of actual promotion.

It seemed like an irreversible slide destined to end in tragedy. That was then.

Six months later, a feisty and focused Britney Spears is putting her life back together.

“She’s the best I’ve seen her in three years,” a well-placed source in Britney’s camp told the Daily News. “She has her kids back now and she’s working on a new album. Hopefully it will be out by the end of the year.”

Britney, 26, isn’t stopping with music. She’s reading TV treatments and looking to executive produce a show in the same vein as Ashton Kutcher or Randy Jackson, the source said.

“It has to be organic to her, maybe something related to music or fashion,” the source said.

As for acting, she’s shopping for a supporting role in a romantic comedy to follow up her well-received cameo on CBS’ “How I Met Your Mother,” the source said. She also stepped in front of the camera last week when she taped a video short for the stage show of Madonna’s upcoming “Sticky & Sweet” tour.

“These are baby steps. She’s taking every opportunity to see her kids, and the last thing she’ll do is tour for three months or take the lead in a feature and be away from them again,” the source said. “Maybe she’ll go out on tour after the new year, but something short.”

Last month a judge reinstated Britney’s overnight visits with Jayden James, 1, and Sean Preston, 2, after she patched things up with divorce lawyer Laura Wasser and made a “businesslike” court appearance opposite ex-husband Kevin Federline.

“The overnight visits are great positive reinforcement for her. She almost has the equivalent of one-third custody back, and being able to care for them is enormously helpful to her progress,” another source close to the singer said.

A custody trial is set for next month, and Britney remains under a court-ordered conservatorship run by dad, Jamie Spears, at least until July 31.

It was Jamie and Britney’s once-estranged mom, Lynne, who swooped in last January, won a restraining order against mock manager Sam Lutfi and brought Larry Rudolph, who discovered Britney at 13 and built her career, back into the fold.

Now the paparazzi who snapped the minutiae of her meltdowns are filing photos of Britney hitting the gym, working on her sixth album or vacationing with fellow rehabber Mel Gibson, another client of her powerhouse criminal lawyer Blair Berk.

“She’s a true professional in the studio. She’s very focused, and she stays as long as it takes to get the job done,” said songwriter James (Jim Beanz) Washington, who’s collaborating with Britney and mega-producer Nate (Danjahandz) Hills on the new Jive Records album.

Experts say a triumphant comeback is possible if Britney stays focused.

“We heard all this talk of a comeback last year, but she wasn’t committed. She seemed committed to becoming a train wreck, not the beloved pop star,” said Morris Reid of Washington image consultancy Westin Rinehart.

“We know this woman is talented. And who knows, maybe all the pain is both a curse and a gift,” he said. “Difficult times are when some artists create their best work. She could use her music to express her feelings right now. And we all know people are interested in Britney’s feelings.”

Lynne Helps Britney With Her Boys

Written by admin. Posted in Personal Issues

It was a family affair Saturday as Lynne Spears hung out with Britney and her sons Preston and Jayden for an overnight visit at the star’s Studio City home.

In town since Wednesday, Lynne and Britney have been enjoying some mother-daughter bonding, shopping at the True Religion warehouse and Pottery Barn on Friday before enjoying a “girls dinner” of salad, sushi rolls, and fish at Bond St. restaurant with two of Britney’s pals.

“Britney walked in with a big smile and introduced her mom to the staff,” says an observer. “She looked gorgeous, and I have never seen her in a better mood. She was laughing the whole time she was here. Britney seemed to have the best time hanging out with her mom and friends.”

Meanwhile, dad Jamie spent the weekend at his new house in Santa Monica.

Britney Bonds With Her Mother

Written by admin. Posted in Personal Issues

Now that Jamie Lynn Spears has given birth to adorable little Maddie Briann, mom Lynne Spears has taken some time to head from her Louisiana home to enjoy some quality time with older daughter, Britney Spears.

First, Lynne joined Brit at the recording studio Thursday night, where the singer is working on a follow-up to last year’s Blackout.

And then earlier on Friday, mom and daughter partook in a nice little shopping spree. Joined by her Brit’s assistant Brett and Lynne’s best friend Jackie the foursome (Britney attempted to hide in the backseat of one car) drove over to the True Religion jean warehouse in Vernon, Calif.

According to witnesses, the four women went “hog wild” at the giant warehouse, scouring the racks and leaving with oversized shopping bags under their arms. Referring to the tight-fit jeans she picked up, Brit was overheard saying to her assistant, “I’m feeling skinnier now, so…”

Insiders tell OK! that Britney’s relationship with True Religion, famous for their low-rise, hip-baring jeans, is basically the same as the understanding she has at the Ed Hardy warehouse, where she is free to roam to rows and rows and rows of clothes and pull whatever she wants.

But despite Friday’s shopping spree, it’s likely that the sexy slacks will be left in Britney’s closet next Tuesday when she heads to court for her final scheduled custody hearing before the case goes to trial in August.

Info On Britney's Designer Night Out

Written by admin. Posted in Personal Issues

It was a girls’ night out – plus dad – for Britney Spears Friday.

Spears, in a loose dress and sun-kissed blonde hair, told PEOPLE she’s doing “good” at designer pal Christian Audigier’s 50th birthday party at L.A.’s Petersen Automotive Museum.

Spears, 26, hung with two girlfriends in a roped-off VIP area at Audigier’s blowout gala. Fergie, Snoop Dogg, Pamela Anderson and – surprise! – Michael Jackson also made appearances.

Jamie Spears joined his daughter, sitting on a couch about five feet away with his head resting on his hands.

Spears stayed about an hour and a half, smoking cigarettes on an outside patio, nodding her head to a live performance from Macy Gray, and abstaining from alcohol. When she left for the evening, her father joined her.

“I am friends with Britney,” Audigier told PEOPLE before the party. “She was at my office, I believe, three weeks ago. She got some presents for Jamie-Lynn and herself too. She got a ton of T-shirts, a ton of caps. She loved it.”

Spears left the party before Jackson, clad in a shiny blue shirt, came onstage to wish Audigier happy birthday.

Jamie Spears’ full-time job is now working for his daughter as conservator of her estate, court papers show.

The pop star returned home from a Costa Rican vacation at Mel Gibson’s house earlier this week.

Britney Back In LA

Written by admin. Posted in Personal Issues

After spending five relaxing days in the sun and surf of Costa Rica, Britney Spears has returned to her L.A. home.

An eyewitness tells OK! that the singer,26, who was vacationing in Costa Rica with Oscar winner Mel Gibson, her father Jamie Spears and her agent, Jason Trawick, arrived at Burbank’s Bob Hope Airport shortly after 7:30 p.m. PT.

It was just last week that the world got to see a happier Britney frolicking in the waves and riding ATVs along the beach as she continues to recover from her whirlwind year.

Pictures showing Brit and Jason being affectionate and flirtatious with each other have sparked rumors that the two may be nurturing more than a professional relationship! Trawick is behind Brit’s recent cameos on How I Met Your Mother.

But all good things must come to an end. Brit has to focus now on her on-going custody case with ex Kevin Federline. The two are scheduled to meet face-to-face in a private conference this week to hammer out the logistics of their custody agreement.

Commissioner Gordon has said that if the two can’t come to an agreement, he will set a trial date for sometime in August or September.

Britney On Holiday With Mel Gibson In Costa Rica

Written by admin. Posted in Personal Issues

Britney Spears and Mel Gibson are headed to Costa Rica where they will vacation with the singer’s father and Gibson’s wife, a source tells PEOPLE.

“They’re just going away for a few days to relax,” says a source.

The group plan to stay at Gibson’s Costa Rican home. They will be back early next week.

The unlikely pair were first spotted together back in mid-March when they dined at Russian restaurant Romanov in Studio City. However, it wasn’t their first meeting. Gibson and Spears and their families met a number of times after the pop star was hospitalized in February, a different source told PEOPLE at the time.

“Mel and his wife Robin clearly saw a woman in crisis and wanted to extend themselves in any way possible,” the source said.

Gibson and Spears used to be neighbors when the singer previously lived in Malibu. “There are no expectations, there is no agenda,” the source added. “It’s simply an act of human kindness – one neighbor reaching out to the other.”
