Bad news for Britney in the UK this week.
Her latest single “If U Seek Amy” has been slowly climbing the official singles chart for the past few weeks. However, even though the physical CD single was released last Monday, the song has peaked at #20 this week. It’s doubtful that it will climb any higher.
This is Britney’s lowest charting single to date in the UK.

Bad news for Britney this week on the official UK singles chart. The “Circus” CD single was released last monday, but the release didn’t manage to raise the song’s position. In fact, it was the opposite! The track fell one place to #18.
On the official album chart, “Circus” climbs three spots to #50.
Time for If U Seek Amy to work its magic…

Britney’s current single, “Circus”, has finally reached the topspot of the Mediabase US pop radio airplay chart! The song has been hanging around for weeks now, but it has reached the top spot this week.

Britney Spears has sold more than 83 million albums and grossed over $350M in ticket sales. She now stands at the threshold of a new chapter in her career. On December 2, 2008, Britney released her new album, “Circus” which sold over 500,000 copies in its first week of release and debuted at number one in the United States and five other countries. To date, “Circus” has sold more than 3 million copies worldwide.

Britney’s official site has just updated to confirm that the RIAA has just certified Britney’s latest album “Circus” as Platinum in the United States.
The album passed the 1,000,000 sales mark a few weeks ago, but the certification has only just been confirmed. Worldwide sales of the disc are currently around the 2,500,000 mark!

It’s been a really slow week for news this week, as you have probably noticed!
Time for another world chart update. After spending four consecutive weeks at #1 on the United World Album Chart, Britney’s new album “Circus” has fallen down 1 place to #2. Beyoncé’s “I am… Sacha Fierce” takes her place in the top spot.

Britney’s two singles are doing amazingly well! On the Mediabase pop airplay chart, “Circus” climbs into the top 10 to #9, joining “Womanizer” which is currently at #4.
“Circus” should climb to the top 5 over the next couple of weeks. This is the first time Britney has had two songs in the top 10 of the US airplay chart. So far, the “Circus” singles are doing really well in comparison to the singles off her previous albums!

Britney’s new album “Circus” spends its fourth consecutive week at #1 on the United World Album Chart this week, having sold over 106,000 copies.
The United World Chart is compiled by Mediatraffic, and takes into acount sales from many countries worldwide.

Britney’s debut album, “Baby One More Time”, which skyrocketed her to international fame, turns ten years old today! The album was released on January 12th 1999 in the USA.
I wonder where she’ll be in another ten year’s time, and how many more albums she will have released!

Britney has managed to hold on to the top spot of the United World Album Chart for the third week in a row, having sold 163,000 copies globally last week. This is the album’s fifth week since it was released on December.
Beyoncé comes in at #2 and P!nk at #3.

Britney’s new album “Circus” has finally climbed up to the top spot on the United World Albums Chart this week, having sold over 412,000 copies. This is its third week on the chart. The total worldwide sales of the album are now well over 1 million!
“Womanizer” falls two places to #3 this week on the United World Singles Chart.

I normally do separate posts for charts but this time I thought I’d put them all together in one.
In the UK, “Circus” falls 10 places to #14 in the official albums chart. In the singles chart, “Womanizer” stays strong at #3 and “Circus” falls a few spots to #39.
In the US, “Circus” looks set to slip to #2 in the Billboard album chart, and is expected to sell about 180k copies this week. “Womanizer” is still staying strong on the charts and is up to #2 on the Mediabase radio airplay chart, its highest position yet!
“Womanizer” has also climbed to the top spot on the United World Chart this week, meaning that it is the most popular song worldwide at the moment!

Britney’s new single “Circus” has entered the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart at #3 this week.
“Womanizer” is at #10, which means this is the first time EVER that Britney has had two songs in the top 10 at the same time!

More good news for Britney!
It will be announced tomorrow that her new album, Circus, is the official number one album on the official Billboard album chart. Initial estimations by Hits Daily Double predict that the album has sold a grand total of 504,507 copies in its opening week. Over 500k! Amazing!
This is Britney’s fifth US number one album. Last year’s “Blackout” entered at #2, having been unfairly robbed of the top spot due to last minute chart rule changes.
