BRITannica from Britney.com writes:

Y’all have been bombarding me with questions about Britney’s mysterious seventh studio album… but I don’t really blame you. I CAN’T WAIT EITHER! Rest assured that an album IS in the process of being recorded, and it’s going to be sick. But a release date has not been confirmed or officially announced. As I always say, if it’s not on Britney.com or BritneySpears.com, take it with a grain of salt.  I’ll give you new music details as soon as I can.

I guess we all already knew she was recording an album from the trips to the recording studio, but it’s always good to have official confirmation.

I’d also like to add to BRITannica’s post: “If it’s not on Britney.com, BritneySpears.com or BritneySpy.com, take it with a grain of salt.” ;-)

Britney’s official site, BritneySpears.com, has rubbished reports that the new album will be released in June this year.

The rumour, whose original source was MTV Buzzworthy, has been added to the site’s BS! Alert section.

If Brit-Brit’s too-brief appearance at the Grammys wasn’t enough to whet your “Toxic” appetite, then get ready to chow down on some new music from Spears this June.

For all those Circus freaks out there, you’ll be stoked to hear that Britney is re-teaming with K. Briscoe, part of The Outsyders production team, who penned Spears’ comeback hit “Womanizer.” Plus, our pop princess is also hooking back up with Corte Ellis from Soul Diggaz, who previously worked with Britney on the songs “Naked” and “Get Back” off Blackout.

Finally, color us flattered that Spears took our advice and decided to collaborate with our fave new French hitmaker DJ David Guetta on new tunes. Ooh, la la!

Briscoe, Ellis and Guetta join a heap of producers who have already been tapped for the project—like Danja, Max Martin, Darkchild, Sean Garrett. Guess it’s just a matter of time until we hear whose tracks make the final album cut. Hope we don’t blackout from anticipation! (Get it? Blackout? Blackout? I’ll be here all night, folks.)

Notice the source: Buzzworthy is a section of MTV that rehashes rumours, it’s not an official source like ‘regular’ MTV.  We previously found through an internal post on SonyBMG’s website that the new album was slated for a May 2010 release.

That being said, I’m still not convinced we’ll get anything new before the third quarter of the year.

After spending several hours at a Miami recording studio on Friday, Britney was back at work for most of the day yesterday!  She was seen at a studio with her management and assistants.

Her A&R person, Teresa La Barbera-Whites, has cofirmed that she is also in Florida.

Exciting!

Having just flown into town the previous evening, Britney Spears was hard at work in Miami, Florida on Friday afternoon (January 29).

Wearing a pretty pink sweater while joined by her trusty security staffer, the “Womanizer” singer made her way to a recording studio to work on new material.

As previously reported by Gossip Center, Britney recently joined Lady GaGa, Kate Bosworth and a slew of other celebs in donating to the Haiti relief efforts.

Miss Spears announced that she’s auctioning off her silver Versace gown from the MTV Video Music Awards in 2008 – with all proceeds heading straight to charity.

Scott Storch has updated his Facebook page with the following:

Just finished a track called “Second Chances” with Britney Spears. Look out for that. Currently we’re in the studio with Dre, Alja Jackson might be getting on that too.

Wonder if it will make the album… He previously worked with Britney on In The Zone but his tracks didn’t make the cut.

Cathy Dennis worked out she could make much more money for far less work by writing songs for other people. Starting with the B-side to the Spice Girls’ Wannabe (called Bumper To Bumper), she has since written some of the biggest pop hits of the last decade including Can’t Get You Out Of My Head by Kylie Minogue, Toxic by Britney Spears, and I Kissed A Girl by Katy Perry.

Where is she now? Still churning out the hits for other artists (she’s working on Britney’s forthcoming album) and is rumoured to be releasing her first single, called Killer Love, since 1997.

Britney Spears started off her day around 11 a.m., first stopping by a music studio on Wilshire – where she was working on her latest album! So excited for that, natch. Then our girl was dropped off in Bev Hills for a little retail therapy…

Our photogs on the scene say that Brit “seemed relieved to get out of the house,” or in this case, her hotel!, and that she “appeared to be in better spirits than in recent days.”

Then Britney stopped at Pottery Barn for some moderately priced home furnishings and afterward, headed to the Chateau Marmont around 2:45 pm.

Jason Trawick was there waiting for her. So it looks like the twosome are at least on friendly terms. Maybe their rough patch is smoothed over temporarily?

The two just left the hotel together in the same car — Brit’s bodyguard driving Jason’s car and Jason chauffeuring Britney in her car. They stopped at Jason’s house to pick up what appeared to be an overnight bag for him and then headed to Britney’s house!

This is the first recording studio visit we’ve heard about!  Let’s hope something great came out of it!

Now that it’s 2010 I thought it was time for an update on Britney’s seventh studio album.

To be honest, we don’t know a lot. As far as we know, Britney is starting to record this month. Darkchild said the process would start “in January” and Danja “soon.” Rumours of a single release in March are flying around, though I wouldn’t hold my breath.

Below is a list of producers confirmed to be submitting songs to Jive for consideration. This means that Britney may not even end up working with them if their material isn’t chosen:

- Max Martin
- Dr Luke
- Danja, Lago and Jim Beanz
- Fernando Garribay
- Rodney ‘Darkchild’ Jerkins
- Lucas Secon
- Chad Dexter
- David Guetta
- Sean Garrett
- Jon Asher

Hopefully we will find out more concrete information later this month.

Check out past updates on the album here.

Britney Spears – May 2010

With over 86 million records sold and 7 Number 1 worldwide singles, Britney Spears is one of the most successful female artists of all time. Circus became her fastest selling album in the U.K. and The Circus Tour was the highest grossing tour of 2009 in North America. Britney will be back with a brand new album in 2010.

Producer Nate ‘Danjahandz’ Hills, AKA Danja, has confirmed today on his official Twitter page that he will be working with Britney on new material “very very soon.”

He has previously worked with her on songs like “Gimme More”, “Get Naked (I Got A Plan)”, and “Break The Ice.”

With regards to the next studio album, so far we know she’s working with Sean Garrett (“Toy Soldier”), Fernando Garibay (“Amnesia”, “Quicksand”), possibly Max Martin and now Danja.  According to a message published on SonyBMG’s internal label website a few months ago, the tentative release date is Spring 2010.  However, I would say a fourth quarter release is much more likely.

Working hard to make the album what he called “bulletproof,” Garrett said despite his proven track record of hit writing, he feels like an underdog on his solo effort. That’s why he’s working extra hard to prove himself as he plans to continue his winning streak with a song on the upcoming Rihanna Rated R album, as well as tunes he’s writing for Lady Gaga and Britney Spears, another single with Mario, “Stranded,” and a new one from Jamie Foxx’s upcoming album, “French Kiss.”
