Worst Circus video to date. The concept doesn’t match the song in any way. Not one dance move. And the entire video is a daytime video? This should have been a nighttime video. I didn’t have one thing I could say I liked about it. I’d say this is her worst video since FTBOMBH. It’s just boring. I don’t understand how the videos started as AMAZING as Womanizer and turned into this? Totally lackluster. Very disappointing.
And I totally agree Danny. In a typical video, the horse getting all wet would have been a hot boy or girl. I laughed out loud at that part.

I’ll watch the Radar video one more time in HD because the version posted was extremely low quality. But after that, I have zero desire to watch it ever again. Britney should make every video with Joseph Kahn. He’s the only director who hasn’t failed her. I still can’t believe there’s no dancing in this entire video.

I can’t stand Beyonce, Diego. But I’d watch the Single Ladies video over IUSA or Radar anyday. That video has really fun choreography even if it is one of the most irritating songs ever recorded. The Radar video is just bad bad bad. Who’s the genius that went “You know what would be perfect video for a song titled ‘Radar?’ Something with horses! And we can hose one down in slo-mo! It’ll be epic!” It just looks so slapped together last minute. Shotty editing. Its just awful. And this isnt really a critique of Britney. It’s a critique of the supposed professional video makers. She looks freaking pretty!!! And her body…DAMN!! HAWT!! This video is great. I personally don’t think it’ll be a good idea for hardcore choreography like circus in this video because there’s no dancce break for that to happen and the beat of this song is basically very poppy. U know what I mean, it’s not as uptempo as Circus. However, a short dance routine could work, but still this is a FANTASTIC video. I think this is the prettiest she’s ever looked and trust me guys, watch it a few more times or when it comes on HD, ur gonna love it!

And if the dancing wasnt up to the fans standards they would complain about that. So brits damned if she does and damned if she doesnt. I am glad she stuck it to the fans and whoever else and went with something totally unexpected. Hmmm, the videos ok! She does look fab and that is something i guess and the song itself is a stand alone hit. I really don’t get the horses, i had pictured a futuristic vid with brit following some guy around some city and eventually catching up with him and then maybe a dance skit. And, guys just because there isn’t a dance break in the song doesn’t mean they couldn’t make one for the vid, pussycat dolls and Janet Jackson do that all the time. Anyway, the vid is definately the most disappointing from Circus but its still better than alot of the crap out there at the mo. And i still heart Britney forevs xoxox

I dunno Samantha….I wouldn’t expect another version of this Radar video. I mean, come on…we have been disappointed countless times expecting for another version.
I totally 100% agree with Diego. There need not be dancing in every single video of hers. Besides, dancing wouldn’t match the theme of this video. Dave Meyers did the right thing by focusing on the story line and keeping it romantic. That’s the whole idea! Imagine something like one scene Britney goes to the polo match and the very next scene she strips down and dances. Awkward! The idea is to keep Britney breath-taking by looks and body and her playing her role as this rich polo player’s girlfriend.
Besides, I also think that her management may prefer variety. I mean Womanizer showed Britney playing many roles (typical Joseph Kahn’s concept), then we saw lots of dancing in Circus (since we’re always demanding for it), next If U Seek Amy (Britney slams back at the Papz; the video is filled with irony), now we have Radar (which focuses on a lot on her acting skills and the theme itself).
This is a good video!

And it would seem u and i are some of the very few that understand the music videos this era. It came up when iusa vid came out. I think radar should be a song with dance moves, because it has that beat, if it was a song like Unusual you or out from under, a slower video would e good. its strange that they made an efort to release Radar again on the circus album, and the video has come out like this.
Firstly, i want to say that Diego, you don’t need to insult other fans just because they don’t like the video. You are not a better fan because you do like it. Im sure that loads of hardcore britney fans will see this vid and think ‘hmm not what i was expecting’. However, saying that, even though i didn’t like the vid that much at first it is growing on me and i can appreciate the storyline now. Im sure the other fans will come around to it and if they don’t, then, as britney said herself, thats there prerogative . But just because they don’t like it doesn’t mean they are ‘linear and narrow minded’. There’s just no need for insults. xxx

The video should have started with Britney driving on a freeway with the camera panning to signs that say “Speed monitored by Radar.” Then, Britney would arrive on a dock where a submarine was being prepared for departure. Add in some tight dance moves for the walk down the dock, first by herself and then with her submarine crew. We discover that Britney is the captain of the sub and they’re on a top secret mission. They hunt down their targets and launch a torpedo to take each out. The torpedos hits their targets and the sub heads back to port. Just a rough idea. But better than what we got, IMO.

Guys, if Britney had a concept of a top secret mission for this Radar video, wouldn’t it be a repeat of what she has done in the past. I mean, both Toxic and Womanizer are almost the same. If she came out with ANOTHER mission-themed video, wouldn’t people be like “Oh, this again…Does she have anything else on mind..?” I dunno….It’s time to try something different.

Comment by Shauny B — Saturday, July 4, 2009 @ 4:05 am
I agree with diego and prem of course. I believe that this is a great video. In actuality how many videos have come out exactly as you want. Britney, putting input into her videos probably thought about it as, if I created a video exactly how the fans wanted, what would be the fun in that? It would get boring because it would be something that everyone expected. This video was always good for me since the first time I saw it. As far as a hardcore dance video, I just don’t fully agree with the fact that it has a hardcore beat to dance to as suggested. And also if you think about it, how many videos have been like this one. Where it has been a love story based on the story line, it’s somewhat going along with the themes that are starting to arise, the “storyline” theme. And I totally disagree with wanting to watch Beyonce’s single ladies video over this one, at least this one has a point. And congrats to Britney not only on the hot bod award but also the NewNowNext award – she deserves it.
I wouldn’t consider Womanier or Toxic a “top secret mission” idea. They were both “revenge on stupid boys” ideas.

Yeah I think the video had a unique aspect to it. I personally don’t understand the point of blasting this video the way some of you have. The last 3 videos of hers including great dance moves and what not. I personally am sick of radar and think that they should have made a great dance video when it was SUPPOSED to be released the first time. I think its a good video for the circumstances in which it was released and perhaps they will have an even better one for the next single. I really hope they promote the next single because Radar is already bombing pretty bad (which is no surprise to me) and they should focus all of their attention on a new single and perhaps a re-release of circus.

It really is a stunning song. But to be honest i wouldnt mind either mannequin or uu as next single. Mannequin could be awesome..video and dance wise. I really like them both. And can i just say that the more i watch the radar vid the more i LOVE IT! Its great..really like what was done with the concept etc. I am ready to see brit dancing hard in her next vid though. videos good but would have been better with dancin and something more sexier, i dont think it goes with the song much at all. doesnt have to have dancin all the time but its such a clubby tune the vids 2 slow paced part from the horses lol. can understand it but was hoping for a big vid or something less story based like gimme more just had her dancin about a pole but i think that vid went so well with the tune
was simple but worked. just my opinion tho lol

I watched a better version of Radar the other day (higher quality) and like the video a lot better now. She looks very classy and sophisticated. She shows how much she has grown.

Yeah, it’s true Freshwater. But, I’m surprised that the choreography for this song was different from the one we saw before…

I’m surprised Mannequin is the the song they chose to add. Kill The Lights is way more popular with fans.

I love Mannequin, i wish she’d done that in London. Oh well.. xxx

Guys, could someone please post up a download link for the Radar video when a really HQ version comes out? I’m dying to watch it on high def!
Comment by prem — Wednesday, July 8, 2009 @ 9:39 pm
It’s available on iTunes.
And Prem, that’s FOX news for you. They specialize in the false and the downright absurd. It’s best to just ignore anything they ever “report.”

Omw unusual you just played on a radio station here. And it sounded awesome!! Even the dj said it sounds really good and is surprised its a britney track. That song would do so well
Comment by Diego — Saturday, July 11, 2009 @ 3:37 pm
Really Diego? Does that mean Unusual You is a potential future single from Circus?
Comment by prem — Saturday, July 11, 2009 @ 6:19 pm
I hope unusual you is a single, that song would blow up the charts bc its different, “unusual” and its a ballad, something brit hasnt released in a while. If she promoted it and had a stunning video, just imagine the wonders that song will do, i just hope this radar single just goes away quick so bloodshy and avant will just shut up about it.
Comment by griff325 — Saturday, July 11, 2009 @ 9:31 pm
isnt it fairly obvious that Mannequin is the next single from it being added to the tour? unless they add more CIRCUS tracks for the US/Aus leg…i can see a total revamp actually, especially as its being called ‘the final act…’.
i love that about this tour, that things keep changing, however small, and keep the show exciting.
Comment by Charles — Saturday, July 11, 2009 @ 11:34 pm
Prem i dont think its any indication of it being a future single. I think the dj just played it to get peoples thoughts on it and she said to vote for it and get it on their chart which is weird cos it aint a single but hey it was a total surprise and awesome to hear it on radio. Like tight choreography not just a quick dance routine here and there. And mannequin could give that
