Don’t forget that Britney’s fly on the wall documentary, For The Record, airs tonight in the USA on MTV.

The show apparently begins the morning of Britney’s VMA appearance this year, and documents details of her life and comeback up until a couple of weeks ago.

BRITNEY SPEARS celebrated her upcoming birthday at a London gay club last night.

Following her performance on The X Factor, the singer hightailed it to London’s G-A-Y for a night of partying with fans.

Britney – who turns 27 on Tuesday – was presented with a wildly OTT birthday cake featuring the star’s face printed on top, as well as a lit candle for every year she’s been alive.

Showing off an impressive lung capacity, Britney then extinguished every flame bar one with a single blow.

Not bad for a smoker.

The comeback babe looked back to her sexy best at the club, smiling and waving at screaming revellers in an armless T-shirt.

However her mood may have taken a turn for the worse this morning when she was presented with the scathing reviews of her X Factor performance.

Britney was criticised for miming her way through her song Womanizer and shying away from her complex dance routines of old.

US singer Britney Spears is to play two concerts at the O2 arena in London next June - the only European shows on her forthcoming world tour.

Tickets for the dates on 3 and 4 June will go on general sale on 5 December - although fans who register with her website can buy them 24 hours earlier.

“It’s going to be very special,” said Rob Hallett of tour promoter AEG.

The concert, he said, would take its theme from her latest album The Circus, which is released next week.

“We’re creating a musical circus,” he said. “Expect to see jugglers, dancers, tattooed ladies and acrobats.”

According to the promoter, the concerts will be Spears’ only dates in Europe “for the foreseeable future”.

Spears last performed in the UK in 2004 when her Onyx Hotel tour visited Birmingham, Glasgow, Belfast, Manchester and Wembley Arena in London.

‘Radiant’

The 26-year-old will be in the capital this weekend to appear on ITV1 talent show The X Factor.

Before that she will travel to Germany to attend the annual Bambi entertainment awards in Offenburg.

The singer will be named best international pop star after achieving what organisers have called a “stunning comeback from an absolute low point”.

“Britney Spears is back,” said host Hubert Burda. “Radiant and better than ever, the erstwhile idol has reclaimed her throne.”

In an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, the performer admitted she felt “like an old person” now her much-documented troubles are behind her.

“I go to bed at, like, 9.30 every night and I don’t go out or anything,” she is quoted as saying. “I just feel like an old fart.”

Spears’ mother Lynne, meanwhile, has been telling the BBC how happy she is that her daughter has got her life back on track.

“Britney wants to do it right,” she told Radio 5 Live’s Colin Paterson, attributing her recent turnaround to having “good people around her” and “lots and lots of prayer”.

Tour announcement??

Britney’s latest single continues to prove a hit internationally, spending its third week in the official UK top 10.  This week the song falls to #9 on the chart, based on downloads alone.

The physical CD single is released in certain stores today.

Although Britney Spears admits in a new film that she “totally lost my way, lost focus, lost myself,” that won’t stand in the way of her comeback, says her manager.

“She’s definitely ready,” Larry Rudolph tells PEOPLE, following a sneak peek of Spears’s riveting MTV documentary, Britney: For the Record, airing Nov. 30, in Santa Monica, Calif.

“She loves to work,” he says. “She’s a very strong person. Everybody goes through setbacks in their lives. [But] every day, I see her getting happier and stronger.”

One of her biggest victories this year? Regaining visitation with Preston, 3, and Jayden, 2, her sons with ex-husband Kevin Federline.

So while her musical comeback is important, Spears has made it clear that motherhood comes first, says Rudolph.

“Her kids and balancing her life with her kids is an incredible priority – the No. 1 priority in terms of how I operate with her,” he says.

Spears’s boys can be seen in the film, which follows the pop star over three months as she records her upcoming album Circus, wins big at September’s MTV Video Music Awards, and speaks frankly about her problems – including her failed relationships with Federline and Justin Timberlake.

The idea for the candid documentary sprung up during a conversation Spears and Rudolph had over dinner several months ago.

“It evolved and became a question of, What will she do? What will she say? How will she say it?” he says. “How will people view her after what she’s been through and after all that they’ve seen in the tabloids over the past year or two?”

Adds Rudolph: “This became sort of a great way for her to say what she needs to say on her terms.”

Hmm this would have made more sense if we hadn’t gotten reports yesterday of Britney and Larry bailing on the screening before it was finished…

Here are a couple of new promotional videos for Britney’s new documentary, For The Record. It will be aired in the USA on November 30th and in the UK on December 1st (on Sky1).

In the videos, Britney talks about how she expresses herself through dancing and how she believes she got married for the wrong reasons.

Another new “Circus” bonus track has been confirmed to be included on the German download of the album. It’s called “Rock Boy” and was apparently written and produced by Nicole Morrier.

The song has already leaked online, along with all the other known tracks off the album.
