As far as Ciera and Kanye, Brit’s album Circus has been long anticipated also. With her success at the VMAs and her self confidence, Jive knows how to win this thing. The only thing they were missing with Blackout was Britney, now they have her. With Britney upto par and Womanizer doing good, that should be the recipe to success! As for Womanizer, what you have to understand about that song is the fact that some Hard core britney fans may not like, but it has a broader appeal on the radio. Just listen to the lyrics, a lot of women can relate to that, which is why it is becoming successful on the radio, plus it is somewhat urban. I say put her up against Kanye, see what happens!

To comment on why she wouldn’t release an album like her first, well it is because times have changed. People are over the bubble gum pop like BOMT, Somtimes, OIDIA, stronger, ect. Don’t get me wrong, those were fabolous songs, but people are over that now. This is 2008, so she and her producers are coming out with some new stuff that will blow us outta dis world, but some fans may not like it because it fits in more with what people are listening to these days. Just like Womanizer, its stormin’ up the charts right now simply because it gives people something new and energizing that they can relate to and its not really that bubble gum pop. Britney is more matured now, her voice is still strong, but its different, so she should adjust her music accordingly, I think she will produce a fabolous album come december with Circus.

Britney is amazing. Britney is the first artist in history to have four consecutive albums to debut at number #1 on the Billboard 200. She is also the first female artist (amongst heavy hitters like Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Madonna, etc.) to have all of her studio albums debut in the Top 2 on the Billboard 200.

The biggest misconception about “Blackout” is that it was a complete and utter failure. Not true. It has sold over 4.1 million records worldwide. For this day and time, that’s not bad. Furthermore, “Blackout” even did pretty well in the U.S. She has sold over 900,000 copies so far. Many believe she will go platinum in the next month.

The album also produced successful singles: “Gimme More” (peaked at #3 on Hot 100: her highest position since Baby One More Time), “Piece of Me” (Peaked at #18 on Hot 100: earned her three VMA’s), and “Break the Ice” (Along with “Piece of Me” and “Gimme More”, peaked at #1 on Hot Dance 100). Both “Piece of Me” and “Gimme More” went platinum in the US and she has sold 3.1 million downloads of these three singles. Blackout did all of this with only one HORRIBLE VMA performance to promote it. Not bad at all, Britney.

As for “Womanizer”, the song is catchy and great. I do not expect it to jump to #1 this week, but I sure as hell expect to be in the top 5. A jump like that (#96-#5) would undoubtedly break records. I think “Circus” will do great! It will undoubtedly sell more albums then “Blackout” in the US and worldwide and produce atleast two more successful singles. I doubt Britney will regain her success back from BOMT, but she surely can return to the throne!
