"Radar" Release Cancelled

The release of “Radar” has been cancelled worldwide, ending promotion for the “Blackout” project – Jive Records USA have removed the radio add date (which was originally 24th June) and have not sent out promotional CDs containing the track. SonyBMG UK have also confirmed that there will be no more singles from the album in the UK, as Britney is in the studio working on new material.

    This is such a shame, Radar is a great track and Blackout is an incredible album that didn’t get the recognition it deserved. Im also upset that she probably won’t be coming to London now unless she plans on doing some studio time here. That would be cool xoxox

    Aww, I was still hoping they’d make Toy Soldier into a single. I’m sure it would be a hit, easily as big as Gimme More, or better. But hey, I’m glad she’s working on new material. Hopefully its as good as Blackout was, and promoted better.

    I doubt it would be released that soon. Britney was recording for Blackout in 2006, and it wasn’t released until late 2007. I’d say at the earliest, maybe by the end of this year, we might hear something new.

    This is a shame but probably for the best. She should leave Blackout and move on to newer and better things. As great of an album it was it was released at the wrong damn time which lead to it not doing as good as it should have. I personally wanted Toy Soldier to be a single to but oh well. There’s a new album coming and that’s always cool.

    I’m searching sony bmg all day about the news and i find nothing!

    This is sooo frustrating! The time when she comes out with an album with all 12 hot songs, she only releases 3. Radar, toy soldier and hot as ice are her 3 strongest songs…ever! It’s a huge waste of effort, time and money put into thse amazing tracks if they’re not released.

    Why would larry “confirm” the shoot of her video to New York Post and AllAccess if sony bmg isn’t even gonna release it as a single?

    Yeah, guys…it’s confirmed.
    This is crazy. Just see….she’s gonna come out with a new album “soon enough” and we’re gonna notice that the album is probably not as awesome as blackout and we’re probably gonna regret why Radar and Toy Soldier weren’t released! These songs were like the perfect follow-ups to Toxic!

    Okay…or even if her new album is more awesome, we’re gonna be regretting why was there only 2 or 3 singles being released from THAT album. It’s the same cycle. We get soooo excited with the songs that she has recorded and at the end of the day, only little of her effort is known to the world. Blackout is the only album up to date where there’s not a single disappointing track! There should be AT LEAST 4 singles. Even non-britney fans say that Toy Soldier is a definite hit…

    If she can match that for her new materials, then…well, I guess I have nothing to say and Sony/BMG and Jive made the right move!

    Sad to hear that Radar wont be released. From what i gather it’s got nothing to do with Blackout or the class song’s on it, more to do with the negativity and the problems that surrounded Brit when she wasn’t well. Guess we will have just Britney’s cameo in the new PCD music video to be happy with for the moment .

    Blackout was great while it lasted…New Britney’s on a mission!

    Jive and Britney’s team are closing down “Blackout” because of all the negatives that are associated with this album, not necessarily the music itself, but the drama from Britney’s personal life that will always be attached and associated with the “Blackout” album. It may be a great album but the image attached to it will keep it back from ever progressing further. Britney and her team mutually agreed to start off fresh with a new album and a brand new cleaned up image.

    Jive Reps are extremely happy with the quality with the new material she’s recorded with Bloodshy, Danja, JR and Polow. She’s currently working in the studio with Guy Sigsworth and then scheduled with The Runawayz late June.

    Britney’s in early talks with the major TV networks who are so desperate to lock Britney into a contractual agreement for the first sit down television interview 1 hour special. Early indications are the networks are throwing around some ridiculous figures that they would be willing to pay for this interview. Jive, Britney and her team will listen to offers but will not accept anything this early.

    I guess they’re testing the waters early to make this an intense bidding war and jack up the price. Right now Britney just wants to concentrate on gaining back 50-50 custody of her two sons, finishing the new album off, getting back into shape and polishing off her dance routines.

    Britney’s also been working out everyday and on a diet as she is determined to get her body back in top shape. She is still very embarrassed about her MTV Video Music Award performance, with the actual performance and her physical appearance at the show. She’s been looking her best in recent years judging by photos taken of her recently so the workouts and dieting are having an effect.”
