Britney Working On Sixth Album

 POSTED BY Danny

After spending countless hours in the recording studio over the last few weeks, Swedish producer Bloodshy, of Bloodshy and Avant, has confirmed via MySpace that Britney is in the process of recording her sixth studio album.

Britney has been spotted at a studio in Burbank numerous times, including visits in the past week.  She has been accompanied by her former (?) manager Larry Rudolph every time.

Britney also dined out with her long time billionaire friend, George Maloof, last night.  George is the owner of the Palms hotel in Las Vegas, where Britney performed a comeback set in 2003.

Check out the confirmation message by Bloodshy here.  What do you think about this?  Are you ready for a new album?  Sad about the premature death of Blackout?  Leave a comment to let us know what you think!

This is good, i love everything that Britney releases and the more the better, i know that it’s disappointing that Blackout has been overlooked, it’s a great album, but this time Britney is in a much better place to do promotion and photoshoots etc. I can’t wait to hear the first single xoxox

I personally would’ve preferred a re-release of Blackout with a couple new songs, re-mixes, and some hot videos. But hey, at this point, I’ll take a new album. I’m pretty sure just because she’s working on a new album doesn’t mean she won’t release any more singles from Blackout. I heard Radar was gonna be the next single, and that she was going to direct it herself (like “Do Somethin”). I wanted Toy Soldier, though.

I think it is unfortunate that “Blackout” has not been the success it should have been but I think that it is good for Britney to create new music, and with it positive energy that mirrors what is going on in her life right now. Let’s face it, Blackout is an album that mirrors someone who wants to escape, for bad reasons, and I think that it represents a bad time in her life. I’m hoping she might release another hot single and video for “Blackout” but hopefully the new album and the material will ROCK and put her back on top where she belongs

I AGREE SEAN! DIS IS GOOD. IT’S SUPPOSE 2 BE RELEASED @ AROUND DECEMBER FOR CHRISTMAS, AROUND DA SAME EXACT TIME AS WHITNEY HOUSTON’S COMEBACK ALBUM IS BEING RELEASED. DATS GONNA BE ONE HELL OF A SHOWDOWN. BILLY, NO OFFENSE 2 U OR BRIT, BUT A RE-RELEASE WOULD HAVE KINDA BEEN A BAD IDEA. I MEAN DON’T GET ME WRONG BLACKOUT WUZ AMAZIN BUT, BLACKOUT WUZ TOTALLY OVER LOOKED. I HONESTLY HAVE 2 SAY IF DERE WUZ A RE-RELEASE I DON’T THINK IT WOULD SOLD MUCH. A NEW ALBUM WOULD B GREAT CUZ SHE IS IN A BETTER PLACE, SO SHE’LL BE ABLE 2 DO A PROMO TOUR OR INTERVIEW OR PHOTOSHOOT ~N~ WERE GONNA KNO WUT SHE’S REALLY BEEN FEELIN… U KNO ABOUT HER SONS, LOVE, PAPARAZZI, HER HEALTH…. WUTEVA!!!! I LIKE “RADAR” IT’S SUPPOSE 2 BE RELEASED ON JULY 7, 2 RADIO AND DA VIDEO SHOT IN JUNE. I LIKE “RADAR” BUT NOT AS A SINGLE. I THINK IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN “GET NAKED (I GOT A PLAN) (MY FAVORITE SONG)” “TOY SOLDIER” OR WHY SHOULD I BE SAD” U KNO LETS GET SOME “MELLOW BRITNEY GOING”…LOL!!! BUT I KNO IT’S GONNA BE A GREAT ALBUM, SO GOOD LUCK 2 HER. WHOOOOOO!!!

I’m still not convinced completely that this will be a completely new album and not the Blackout re-release that was once mentioned. Although would they really refer to a re-release as a new album or sixth album? Hmmmm. A new album would be best probably. Moving on is the best for Britney right now. But whether it’s a re-release or a new album completely either way it’s gonna be pretty fresh because after all it is another Britney album. It’s unfortunate Blackout didn’t do as well as it should have. But it came at a bad time. Britney wasn’t in a good place so she wasn’t in the condition to do any serious promotion or touring plus the media had turned most all the mindless mainstream fans against her. And face it most mainstream music fans base their decisions on what to buy and not buy on what they’re told to by the powers that be. But enough of that bullshit. Forget the past and look into the future. Like a crystal ball. The Crystal of Freshness. Wait it’s not working. Does anyone have any AA batteries?

Clifton on Friday, May 9, 2008 @ 8:04 pm

Yes Clifton enough of that bullshit please.

all i have to say is that Blackout is going to be one hell of a tough act to follow; therefore, not expecting this “new album” to blow my mind in the same way Blackout did.

Scott on Friday, May 9, 2008 @ 8:56 pm

too early for a new album!!!!
i don’t think britney is ready yet to release a whole new album of all new material. a re-release is more practical because she is now in a position where she is healthy enough to promote her album, her problems are getting behind her so talking about them in an interview would not be as hard (asking about her kids might get her emotional though). plus it would give her an extra couple of months where people would be willing to wait for a tour or a tour announcement, because at least she’d be actively promoting an album. blackout is too good an album to simply give up on. with a new cover, a couple more songs and some sort of tour, blackout could climb to #1.
and don’t forget, bloodshy might just be messing with our heads, so don’t get all worked up over what could be nothing.

will on Friday, May 9, 2008 @ 9:31 pm

sorry dont believe it!!!
think about it how long does it take brit to make her albums?

in the zone……….2 years
blackout…………….2/3 years.
new album in 7 months?dont think so, blackout has alot more to give its the best of her carrer brit knows it ,larry knows it, jive know it,itll be big itl just goin to take some time,i mean its still top 20 in alot of the eu.

ben on Friday, May 9, 2008 @ 11:00 pm

you could argue that there was closer to 1 year gaps between the first 3 albums though

Danny on Friday, May 9, 2008 @ 11:33 pm

… and she recorded “oops i did it again” in its entirity in 2 weeks

Danny on Friday, May 9, 2008 @ 11:33 pm

I would love a new britney album even though blackout was really good. The reason why blackout was released was to get peoples minds off of britneys personal issues getting our minds off of what the papparazzi puts out there of britney. Plus some of the songs that were on blackout were recorded even during her second pregnancy so i m thinking it would be great for brintey to put out an album that fresh and the new new britney. She’s making great progress making appearances on how I met your mother and going on business meetings and working out and going in and out frm recording studios getting more time with her children I’m so happy for her and I rlly happy for her soo much !! Brit brit will be number one really soon I can feel it !

I say she take’s the oppurtuinty goes for it, she’s in a place now where she can focus on her work and has got the people she needs to support her. She has gone through soooooooo much in the past year. I thought Blackout was amazing so it’s a little sad that it wasn’t promoted enough.
But a 6th studio album sounds exciting and I can’t wait! This girl is back!!!
Im so proud of her she has come along way!

M on Saturday, May 10, 2008 @ 3:15 am

Danny, honestly, “premature death of blackout” is a hard statement…..but, it’s the truth! I had so much hope for blackout coz this is her first album with all 12 mega hits!!

I wished that she thought about getting her body back in shape, eating right and touring, all much earlier this year…NOT after 3 singles! This proves that she had so much potential if she puts her mind into somethin..and that is only if she surrounds herself with the right people (Larry, parents) even though it took some time for her to realize that. Her career and kids are the only focus in her life. Now, probably her most successful single in her career following toxic is gonna be out…Radar!

I hope Jive makes a killer video for this in order to redeem Blackout! Anyway, I’m so excited that Bloodshy & Avant is working on her 6th album. They make great music. Period!

prem on Saturday, May 10, 2008 @ 5:24 am

omg….she should first make radar, toy soldier and get naked(i got plan) a single…i really2x love her album.. the best among the bunch.. ^_^

omg* on Saturday, May 10, 2008 @ 6:08 am

well she still have many HOT tracks on blackout, toy soldier, radar, get naked and perfect lover to release’em as singles and than we’ll talk about an other album, Blackout already sold 2 million copies with other singles it will hit the 5 million i’m sure

dali on Saturday, May 10, 2008 @ 5:07 pm

Aoife on Saturday, May 10, 2008 @ 5:23 pm

I THINK THE NEW ALBUM SHOULD BE CALLED “BRITNEY: THE REBIRTH”

***MIMI*** on Saturday, May 10, 2008 @ 5:51 pm

OR SUMTHIN WIT DAT CONCEPT… U KNO!!!!!

***MIMI*** on Saturday, May 10, 2008 @ 5:52 pm

I think she should go with her title of ‘the original doll’ that would be HOT!! Either way I am stoked about all the progress and the potential of new music coming our way!!!!

Gstar on Sunday, May 11, 2008 @ 1:37 am

YEA GSTAR, I WUZ THINKIN DAT 2 BCUZ “ORIGINAL DOLL” IZ A TIGHT ASS NAME… BUT I DON’T THINK SHE WOULD DO DAT BUT HEY U NEVER KNO.

***MIMI*** on Sunday, May 11, 2008 @ 1:58 am

New album, GREAT IDEA, you see, the way i see Blackout, which is an AMAZING ALBUM btw!, is sorta like an album with some random songs thrown together just to get back out in the music world again and get everyone listening to what new stuff she has to offer.

So, from the music she has on blackout and it being as great of a cd it is its showing us that we can expect more great music in the future, Like her great songs “Radar” and “Toy Soldier”./ If she gets Bloodshy and Avant to work with her on almost every track,…guaranteed hits right there!, maybe this new album will be Toxic, Toy Soldier, Piece of Me, and Radar times 1000000000000000!, its gonna be good….

and its another chance for those people who complained about Blackout and Gimme More having the same cd cover to be happy cuz theres gonna be a brand new cover!

and it seems like britney is able to get back out there and get all the promotion she needs and maybe even have a tour, god i cant wait to hear a new album, im sure itll be GREAT,

cuz its like the OFFICIAL comeback of britney spears, not as a comeback into the music industry, but as a comback mentally, spiritually, physically, w.e way. Shes getting back to the good ol brit, with some new twists :)

cant wait to see what she has to offer

Jon on Sunday, May 11, 2008 @ 2:40 am

Re-release the BLACKOUT first before releasing a new album. I feel such waste with songs like Toy Soldier, Get Naked, esp. HEAVEN ON EARTH,,,,

Make “GET BACK” as lead single of the re-release album of BLACKOUT… It’s a great great song… I was kinda wondering why it didn;t make the cut..

It’s really timely to release “Get Back” because our Britney is back with a vengeance,,,

The Original Pop Princess and the Successor of Madonna is sooo back…

frejhay on Monday, May 12, 2008 @ 11:23 am

That is great. I can’t wait for new album to get it stores. :) When I got her latest I couldn’t stop listening for …. one whole moth I think ;). Her latest album is great comeback. She can do anything and no matter how crazy I will support her 4ever. I think new album could sound like Britney or In The Zone (just a hunch ;)).
I was happy to see she is getting her old shape again… Who knows, maybe she does a tour soon.

Brit Guy 17 on Monday, May 12, 2008 @ 10:35 pm

I would love to see a new britney album. We have all seen her in and out of the recording studio over the past month or so, she’s up to something. But to be honest I dont think that she will release another album anytime soon. It has not even been a year since Blackout was released. And i also think that Blackout was something that her label pushed her to release because she had not had any new material in 3 yrs. They probably made her do it so she wouldnt be forgotton about. The album has done great, it had a hit single and has sold over 2 million copies worldwide without any promotional work whatsoever. but im going to keep my fingers corssed and hop we see something soon..

Anthony on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 @ 12:34 pm

BLACKOUT, What a great album with great material. Even people like P williams worked with her on the tracke Why should I be sad. There is alot of good songs on B/out! One part of me can’t wait to hear Brit’s new stuff, but the other half of me is saying “hang on, don’t swipe Blackout under the door mat!”

And one question guy’s…. At the end of the break the ice Video, it says to be continued….What or where will that lead to? … Radar? who knows.

I’m glad the girl is getting back on track, for her sake and her fan’s who really love her music.

I’m not sure if im in favour of a re-relese of blackout either. We will all have to wait and see what the god’s at JIVE TOWERS decide

p.s. Have u guys heard tracks called Sugafall with P williams and britney whic is on the asia blackout version and the song everybody. hot tunes. why did the not make the cut???? so many questions.

Chin up britney!! x x x

A new album would be awesome, and i’m sure by the time it’ll be released it’ll have been over a year since “Blackout” came out, but i do thinka re-release of “Blackout” with some bonus songs would be totally awesome and would really benefit such a great album that was just released at a bad time in brit’s life. LOVE YA BRIT!!!!!!!I’ll be happy no matter what happens, whether ur really workin on a whole new album or whether ur workin on a few new songs for the re-release of “Blackout” or maybe even some of both.

Sheena on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 @ 7:27 pm
