Inside Britney’s Dance Classes At Millenium Dance Complex

Almost immediately following her release from the hospital in early February, Britney Spears went back into the dance studio, not only to work on her upcoming video, but to get back to one of her former favorite pastimes — teaching young boys and girls how to shake their tail-feathers like a platinum-selling pop star.

And now, as the singer continues her closed-door sessions with these lucky kids, OK! brings you an exclusive look at exactly what she’s teaching them — and how it’s helping her to become a better mom.

“We started out with about seven kids and now we’ve doubled that to 15,” Robert Baker, owner of Millennium Dance Studios, where Brit teaches and rehearses, explains exclusively to OK!. “She wants to have different kids in the class each time to give everyone a chance to have fun.”

At a class on Feb. 25, the students, who range in age from 8 to 15, lined up and handed Britney little gifts of flowers, chocolates and homemade cards. “She was so touched,” Robert remembers. “She thanked each child individually. It was kind of surreal and very cute.”

Robert tells OK! that the best part of each class comes at the end, when Britney plays a variety of dance games with her students. “One is called Freeze,” he explains. “Everyone creates a circle and does a little dance step. Whoever gets off step has to stand in the circle. One time recently, she got off step but she didn’t want to get into the circle, saying, ‘Oh no, you guys! I’m not getting in the circle!’”

But with the students shouting back, “You got off step! You have to get in!” the pop star didn’t have much of a choice. “The kids kind of revolted,” says Robert. “It was very cute. And, of course she did it, and the kids went crazy laughing.”

These lessons appear to be having a therapeutic effect on the mother of two. “Seeing her with these children, and then having these regular visits with her boys,” Robert explains. “It’s connecting the dots. I’m seeing a return to the old, loving Britney from before. She’s really improving.”

hey guys im from australia and i just heard break the ice on teh radio for the first time. the song is a bit different from the cd version, its pretty much the same but its a bit longer and a lot better, it sounds so awesome! anyway is this version the same one that has been playing on american radio stations or in america are they just using the album version??

Hi Mat the version of Break the Ice on the Blackout album is the final studio cut of the song. I think the version you are listening to is the original demo which i have to agree with you has a much cleaner finish, but hey sure whatever version is still great cant wait to see the new vid.

wow, britney is finally changing her life around….also, if u havent noticed…theres been Less and less and less news about her on the internet, i mean even Perezhilton.com hasnt posted anything on her in a while and there was something ALWAYS new about her on there, good or bad, (i dislike what he says about brit btw), but anyways! shes finally getting help and shes gonna be big again, i say Put out a new album…or re-release blackout with more promotion and shell be biggggg in no time , but as for now, keep gettin help brit

I agree JON, but perez used 2 be a big fan b4 she fell out, but he’s gettin back on her side now dat she’s finally gettin help, and I’m pretty sure all her old fans will come back once she is back on track. Oh, and she should release a new album (Late december or spring 2009)… but she should not re-release BLACKOUT. I dont think it would be a good idea.

She should re-release “Blackou deluxe edition” (including 3-4 hot new songs not released or leaked b4, the “Gimme More”, “Piece Of Me” , “Break The Ice” MV, also the original “Gimme More” video and a HOT NEW CD Cover)

She should also go on the Blackout Tour to promote the “Blackout”

Speaking about that, Canwen…..I’m soooooooo eagerly DYING to see the original Gimme more video….I just know it’s hot!

Why can’t jive just be very kind and let her fans into a teeny-weeny glimpse of the video? Ohhh…the funeral scene, the club scene(britney with green eyes)….and all we got was the pole!

Still gearin up for break the ice, though….

Yes, a Deluxe Edition of blackout would be nice..but the problem is,,…One of the major reasons for the little success of blackout is mainly curiosity of people who were interested in seeing if she still had it or not and the others were from die hard fans..its too bad that it couldnt have done alot better but people didnt really give it a chance cuz of the way shes portrayed in the media and its sad that some people didnt buy it just cuz the album cover was the same for gimme more, i admit i would have LOVED to see a different cover and it was bad on Jives part to use the same cover but its the one we got so we have to live with that, ..i do however, remember reading somewhere in december that a Re-release of blackout would be happening and that it was scheduled for sometime late June but then it was pushed way back to September or October, this would be awesome if that could happen cuz it gives hope for new songs AND POSSIBLY HOPEFULLy! a new album cover, and hopefully it will do better, but who knows whats gonna happen, maybe a new cd would be better? haha wow theres too many possibilities!
