Swedish Singer/Songwriter Robyn Asked To Write For Britney's New Album

Written by admin. Posted in Uncategorized

Britney Spears is desperate to get her music career going again. So she turns to Sweden – and Robyn.

“I’ve been asked to write another song for Britney,” Robyn says.

Britney Spears’, 25, private life and several attacks on the paparazzi have stolen focus. Now she hopes for headlines about her music career instead.

Now she’s back in the studio she’s, once again, turning her head towards Sweden.

“It’s correct that I’ve been asked to write a new song for Britney and I’m cool with it,” states Robyn.

Robyn herself is climbing the charts with the single “With Every Heartbeat”.

To get trust from the pop queen is a step in the right direction.

“I’ve written songs for her before but they haven’t gone further than the recording studio, so to do it again is a big step for me,” Robyn says.

The collaboration means that Britney Spears is taking a different direction with her new music. “I love “Umbrella” by Rihanna. There’s something fresh and mobern about that song,” Robyn says.

Exclusive: Britney To Be On The Cover Of Allure Magazine's September Issue

Written by admin. Posted in Uncategorized

Allure chose pop tart gone wild Britney Spears. Why would a magazine about beauty put on its cover an unstable woman who shaved her own head, went to rehab and is a regular on celebrity weeklies’ worst dressed lists? Editor in chief Linda Wells explained in her editor’s letter: “I thought we could present the profile as her comeback. Perhaps Britney’s story would be redemptive, like those of Angelina Jolie, Drew Barrymore and Mariah Carey before her.” Instead, Britney took the photos and bailed — she missed four scheduled interviews with writer Judith Newman, and the accompanying comeback story went untold. Newman instead penned a story about the state of celebrities in 2007, and Allure crafted the cover line “Britney Spears: Tells Us Nothing and Everything.”

Shannon Funk's Mother Talks About Britney

Written by admin. Posted in Uncategorized

Maureen Funk, the mother of Shannon Funk, a personal assistant whom an insider said was fired by Britney Spears last week, is defending her daughter.

She tells Life & Style, “My daughter is a terrific person and she has been hounded by the media since news that she had left Britney broke. Contrary to what people may think, this situation is not about money as Shannon is not that type of person.” Maureen denies her daughter inked a $500,000 “tell-all” deal to spill the beans about her short-lived stint as Brit’s personal assistant (Shannon has denied she was fired by Britney).

Maureen says, “I feel sorry for Britney Spears, as she is under a lot of pressure every day and is a really sweet woman, despite all the stories.”

As Life & Style previously reported, “Britney felt a lot of her recent troubles started and stopped with Shannon,” an insider close to Britney said. “Britney thought she was talking badly about her. She was rude and Britney felt she was letting business emails fall by the wayside.” Shannon was Brit’s assistant when the pop star recently filmed her personally-financed video, which ended in a near meltdown.

Meanwhile, Britney’s uncle, Barry Bridges, tells Life & Style that with Britney’s divorce from Kevin Federline finalized, “I think Britney and Kevin should be very happy about this. It’ll be a relief to the family, [and] I think [her mom] Lynne will be happy.”

As for advice he would offer Britney, he says, “Just get on with your life, and try to be civil. She’ll need to know to not talk badly about their daddy, especially around the kids.”

Asked whether he thinks Brit will work on her relationship with mom Lynne, now that the divorce is settled, he says, “I think they’ll get back together. Sometimes people are hard-headed, but Britney and Lynne have been so close so long. Remember that your family is always your family. You don’t forget they love you, no matter what.”

Kevin's Lawyer Rubs Salt In The Wound Of Increasing Tabloid Stories

Written by admin. Posted in Uncategorized

With his marriage to Britney Spears officially over, Kevin Federline is focused on giving their two young sons a secure upbringing outside the media glare so they can “pretend they’re like everyone else,” his lawyer said.

The couple’s divorce was made official Monday. In an interview with The Associated Press, Federline attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan said Tuesday his client will shun the spotlight when he cares for the children under a custody agreement.

“When they are with him, he is going to shield his children from unwanted media attention,” Kaplan said. “You will not find a picture of Kevin parading with the children out in a public place.

“He’s focused right now on being the best parent that he can be,” the attorney added.

Kaplan, who specializes in celebrity family law cases, refused to disclose the custody arrangement or other details in the divorce.

Since February, Spears, 25, and Federline, 29, have shared joint custody of their two sons, 22-month-old Sean Preston and 10-month-old Jayden James. Federline also has two children with former girlfriend Shar Jackson.

However, Kaplan said Federline’s life as a celebrity father comes with different demands than many other fathers face, including huge expenses. When they go out, Kaplan said, there must be a nanny and security guards.

“There are people you have to pay so your kids can pretend they’re like everyone else,” said Kaplan. “When you are a celebrity parent, there are financial dynamics that others not familiar with it can’t understand. “

Spears and Federline wed in October 2004, eight months after her first marriage to childhood friend Jason Alexander was annulled. The pop star cited irreconcilable differences when she filed for divorce from Federline on Nov. 7, 2006.

Kaplan said Federline wouldn’t comment on Spears’ public behavior. Most recently, she’s been accused of threatening paparazzi outside a Las Vegas spa.

“He doesn’t want to do anything that would be perceived as taking her down a peg,” Kaplan said. “His goal is to keep things between him and Britney private. There’s a proper forum to discuss issues with a co-parent. That place is not in the public eye.”

Asked if things might have been better for their sons if they had made a go of it together, Kaplan sighed.

“In a perfect world, maybe that would be true,” he said. “I’ve seen so many marriages end on that question. But in a perfect world, there are no lawyers.”

Alli Sims Talks About Britney And Her Babies

Written by admin. Posted in Uncategorized

She’s been best known for hanging out with Britney Spears, but now her “cousin” Alli Sims is aiming for a pop career of her own.

Blogs have been watching Sims’s Web site closely, and on Monday Spears’s former assistant updated it to include her first song – a cover of “On My Own,” from the stage musical Les Misérables.

And, the newly launched singer tells PEOPLE, she already has a staunch supporter in Spears.

Shrugging off rumors that Britney resented her decision to pursue her lifelong dream, Sims, 26, says: “She heard my songs on the laptop and was like, ‘I love this song! This is you singing?’ She has always been supportive.”

As for Spears’s parenting skills, which have come under fire recently, Sims tells PEOPLE in its new issue, “She’s a wonderful mom and she is so hands-on. … Britney loves those babies to death. And they adore her.”

When it comes to her former employer, Sims adds, “I love her, she’s beautiful inside and out. We’re still great friends.”

And when it comes to her music, the Southerner says she’s after a “soulful” sound, and the single on her Web site is “more of a filler song until I get my new stuff recorded. Honestly, we put that one up there because all the other ones I had put down in the past had a little more of a country vibe, and I do not want to go there at all.”

Further distinguishing herself from her famous friend, Sims also says, “I don’t dance, I’m not pop. I have a more bluesy voice, more Norah Jones-ish. I don’t want to appeal to just my age group and younger.”

Having moved to Los Angeles immediately after college with a music career in mind, Sims made ends meet by working with noted wedding planner Mindy Weiss and, more recently, for Spears.

“I was just doing that for a little while, and we had a great time together,” Sims says of working with Britney.

Now, however, Sims is making music with the likes of such in-demand producers as Evan Bogart and J.R. Rotem.

“I hope everything falls into place, and maybe by January I will have a lot of things under my belt and get to release something,” Sims says. “I just want to do what I love. [Music] is my passion.”
