Britney Spears is collaborating with the Pet Shop Boys on her new album.

The 25-year-old singer is determined to return to the charts with an edgy new sound and wants British electro pop duo Chris Lowe and Neil Tennant to help.

A source said: “She heard the remixes they did for Madonna and was blown away. She hopes they can weave some of their magic on her tracks too.”

Britney has vowed to concentrate on her pop comeback, after spending the past few months partying following her split from husband Kevin Federline.
An insider at her record company said: “It’s virtually all done and it’s not weepy stuff but uplifting pop. She’s determined to be the No 1 female pop star again.”

The Pet Shop Boys are known producing songs for established stars.
They recently worked with British singer Robbie Williams on upcoming single ‘She’s Madonna’.

Putting partying aside, BRITNEY SPEARS put her career in focus last week as she headed to a Los Angeles dance studio to practice her pirouettes and fine-tune her two-step — and on January 28th’s ET, they have the never-before-seen video!

Dressed in slinky black dance gear and showing off her toned tummy, with pulled-back hair and dangly gold earrings, the “Toxic” singer first watches the group of dancers as she holds her toddler son SEAN PRESTON while he drinks a bottle. At one point, the two even adorably dance together in the mirror!

Then, when ready to get in on the act herself, Britney hands Sean Preston over, lets her hair down and gets into the groove, proving she still has all the right moves!

This isn’t the first time the songstress has been seen out with her kids this month. Just two weeks ago, she and Sean Preston went shopping for a new addition to their family in the form of a brand new Chihuahua puppy.

They caused quite a stir while they shopped at Pets of Bel Air, where they also picked up accessories for their new pup — including an ultrasuede pink collar encrusted with crystals — as paparazzi cameras flashed, taking in their every move.

Earlier this month, Britney reached a temporary agreement for custody of her two children with KEVIN FEDERLINE. In court papers obtained by ET, the aspiring rapper is allowed visitation Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 12-4 p.m. at Britney’s residence. The paperwork does not detail any custody arrangements after the month of January, which could mean it’s back to court in February.

The article fails to mention that Britney also took Jayden along to the rehearsal… but he was there.

As you may remember, Britney’s Aunt Sandra was battling breast cancer a few years ago, and now it seems the disease has finally caught up with her. Britney was extremely close to her aunt, so I hope the paparazzi let her grieve during this time of mourning.

I really hope the paparazzi don’t get anywhere near the funeral service just to get a glimpse of Britney.

Britney Spears is serious about having a musical comeback, and she’s burning the midnight oil at the recording studio almost every night to make it happen. The 25-year-old pop star is working with one of the best in the business, Pharrell Williams, and the two have been recording tracks for the CD she says will hit stores at the end of this year –if all goes well. Williams, 33, has the Midas touch when it comes to music, and there’s no reason why he and her manager Larry Rudolph can’t bring her career back to the heights it once knew. CB also spotted a Kanye West lookalike leaving the recording studio, which may have been the real thing, but we are awaiting confirmation!

It’s no secret that Britney is going through a rebellious stage right now, after having been pregnant for two years straight, she is definitely feeling her oats and into having a great time. She is obviously aware that the world is watching to see if she sinks into obscurity, or makes a huge splash based on her talent, not her scandalous lifestyle!

Celebrity Babylon thinks that Spears will have her day, heck, we even saw her snapping little Sean Preston, 1, into his car seat the other day. Britney Spears’ manager, Larry Rudolph, tells Us Weekly exclusively that “Britney is not pregnant,” calling a recent tabloid report claiming that Spears is expecting “absurd.”

Rudolph tells Us that he believes that the “ridiculous” report came from an incident last week in which Spears’ new boyfriend, Isaac Cohen, accidentally wiped peanut butter on his t-shirt while in the company of Spears. Observers wrongly concluded she had vomited, and thus was experiencing morning sickness.

“It’s ridiculous. Because someone didn’t lick peanut butter off his finger, she’s pregnant,” Rudolph joked. “That’s how ridiculous it is.”

Los Angeles (eCanadaNow) - Britney Spears is spending a fortune on cream to banish her stretch marks.

The singer - who gave birth to her second son, Jayden James, last September - recently visited Los Angeles baby boutique Petit Tresor and reportedly spent more than $400 on Mustela creams which are used to fade post-natal stretch marks.

A source said: I guess it will be part of her new look. Good for her!

Britney has vowed to take better care of herself in 2007, and stop partying so hard. The pop beauty has been spotted on several occasions out clubbing since splitting from husband Kevin Federline.

When asked what her resolutions for 2007 were, Britney said:Stop biting my nails and just to take care of me more.

A couple of months ago, we reported that Britney was going to be working with Pharrell Williams on her new album.

This weekend they were both seen arriving at the same studio. Britney arrived early on Friday night and didn’t leave until the early hours of Saturday morning!

Q: Can you talk a little bit like when you sit in the room with Britney, what’s your process in terms of getting information out of them and how does it influence your songs?

Ne-Yo: Pretty much the same way that this is going on. You ask questions and you get the answers. As far as Britney, her whole thing was she’s tired of talking about Kevin, tired of comeback songs. She said she has a CD disk changer of 12 CD’s full of Britney’s back songs and she was like, ‘Can I just make a song? Does it have to be my triumphant return every time?’ And you know, I was like, ‘I see your point.’ So I didn’t give her one of those. She’s like, ‘I just want hit records. That’s all.’ So I said, ‘Look, alright.’

Q: Did Columbus [Short] give you any advice about working with her because I know he choreographed?

Ne-Yo: Nah, he didn’t really give me any advice as far as working with her. She’s a lot stronger than people would think and she’s not as – I mean I hate to put it this way – but she’s not as dumb as people think she is. She’s really not, you know. Her whole thing is like, ‘I’m human. I’ve made a bunch of mistakes. Okay, I see that, but goodness gracious, must I be crucified for jaywalking?’ is basically how she looks at it. It’s like ‘They hung me on a cross because I crossed the street. C’mon. What’s going on?’ And it’s true, you know, she’s one of those people where the slightest little thing and it’s like, “Oh my god, Britney’s a crack addict. Wow!’

Q: Well, out in public without her drawers on and showing it is more than a little …

Ne-Yo: I don’t know if that was purposely done but I mean, you know, she’s … I don’t know. I’m not gonna sit here and make no excuses for Britney.

According to Will “Deshair” Foskey’s blog, Humanitarian Award winner, David Banner has submitted songs for Britney’s fifth album, and has had positive feedback from Britney’s reps who like what he submitted. He had this to say: “I’ve submitted some music to Britney Spears, and it’s looking like they are going to accept the submission.”

Britney Spears may look disheveled from too much partying, but rumors of her professional demise are premature.

Sources inside Jive Records tell me that despite stories last week about the pop tart being dropped by her label, nothing is further from the truth.

“Britney is safe. She’s been recording since even before the blow up with Kevin Federline,” says my source. “She’s working with a lot of different producers. Jive is not dropping her.”

Indeed, with the current crazy climate in the record biz, Jive wouldn’t be very smart if they let go of a known commodity.

“Let’s put it this way,” says an insider, “she’s just a hit away from being back. Why drop her now?”

Dropping Britney would also be a terrible PR move for Jive right now, too. To turn against a single mother of two — even if she is a party girl — would not play well in the public’s mind. If Courtney Love can make a comeback, then Britney Spears certainly can.

The source continues: “If you think back to her last record, everyone said she was finished then. The word was that Pink would have the hit album, and that Britney was over. In the U.S., at least, that didn’t happen. It was the reverse. Britney had a monster album.”

So Spears is off the hook for the time being. But patience can wear thin even in the mercurial music biz. So she’d better get back in the studio and get serious fast.

Britney was out driving in Santa Monica yesterday and turned up her demo CD to give us a preview of a new song! It’s mid-tempo and definately not what I was expecting after hearing all the hiphop producers she’s been working with. The vocals also sound great. You can also hear the start of another new song but she drives off a few seconds into it.

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline have agreed upon a custody arrangement for their two sons – at least for the month of January, according to legal documents obtained by PEOPLE.

Spears, 25, will have custody of Sean Preston, 1, and Jayden James, 4 months, most of the time, but Federline, 28, will be allowed to see the boys three times a week for four hours between Jan. 12 and 31 at Spears’s residence.

Both parties agreed that the only people allowed at the visitation will be Spears, Federline, a nanny, Spears’s personal assistant and household staff.

Meanwhile, Spears is permitted to take the children to Miami from Jan. 5 to 11. She has agreed to keep Federline apprised of her location while in the city.

The arrangement only applies for the month of January, as TMZ.com reported Friday.

Spears filed for divorce on Nov. 7, seeking sole custody of the children; in documents filed the next day, Federline also asked for sole custody.

It has been a while since I’ve addressed you personally here on my official website. The last couple of years have been quite a ride for me, the media has criticized my every move and printed a skewed perception of who I really am as a human being. Behind every decision I have made in my public life there always seems to be an apparent contradiction. I have come to terms with that which is why I usually don’t pay much attention to it.

The last couple of years have been very enlightening for me and now that I’ve had the time to be “me,” I’ve been able to sit down and think about where I want to go with myself as an entertainer with absolutely no strings attached. I am now more mature and feel like I am finally “free.” I’ve been working so hard on this new album and I can’t wait for you all to hear it and to go on tour again! I would like to exclusively tell you that I am working hard to release the new album sometime later this year, but the date is of course not certain yet. I look forward to coming back this year bigger and better than ever, and to also reaching out to my fans on a more personal level. I noticed today that one of my biggest fansites is shutting down soon and I want you all to know that I do understand all the reasons that went behind making that decision, and I am sad to see it closing. If I were you I’d be unhappy too if I had to read what I’ve been reading every day. But trust me, I get it. I know I’ve been far from perfect and the media has had a lot of fun exaggerating my every move, but I want you all to know that I love my fans so much, and I appreciate everything you have done for me, so Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

God, even she is talking about WoB closing. I don’t think people get that his site wasn’t even popular anymore and the webmaster has closed it numerous times before citing that he didn’t “respect” Britney anymore. He’s a liar and a fraud and I’m sick of hearing all this massive controversy about his site closing. I didn’t want to mention it on the site because I don’t want to give him more attention, but he’s really getting on my nerves (more than usual!).

Despite persistent rumors that Jive isn’t pleased with Spears’ latest recording sessions and might want to drop its former golden child, the label asserts it’s standing by the pop star.

“Contrary to media reports, Jive’s relationship with Britney Spears is fine,” a Jive spokesperson said. “She continues to be one of our biggest worldwide artists, and we remain 1000 percent committed to Britney’s career. She is currently in the middle of recording a terrific new album that we are very excited about releasing it in the second half of this year.”

Britney Spears isn’t dumb.

She’s well aware of the fans who have been alienated in recent months by her headline-generating behavior.

“She understands what’s going on right now, and she calls it her ‘rocky moment,’ ” says Spears’ manager, Larry Rudolph. “Britney knows exactly what she needs to do.”

Rudolph is speaking out to address news that on Jan. 31, World of Britney, the largest unofficial fan website devoted to Spears, is closing down after more than six years. Among the reasons: her image.

“I’ve not been happy with the way she’s portraying herself,” says Ruben Garay, who founded World of Britney (worldofbritney.com) in October 2000 and was attracting more than 30 million fans by 2005. He will continue to run a celebrity blog that includes news about Spears, he says, “but not as a fan.”

Rudolph concedes that Spears, 25, has acted out in ways to fuel negative publicity. “I’m not defending it, and she’s not defending it.” But many of the tabloid reports, he says, are either untrue or exaggerated. When she nodded off during an appearance at a Las Vegas nightclub New Year’s Eve, he was getting calls asking which hospital she was in. “We were sitting there drinking orange juice. She got tired in a club, and we took her back to her room. Suddenly, I’m hearing words like ‘collapsed’ and ‘passed out.’ “

From a fan’s perspective, “from what they’ve been seeing and hearing, I understand the disappointment,” Rudolph says. “But Britney is increasingly motivated to get out there. She sees this as a challenge, that some fans may be questioning her. She is respectful. She sees this as her challenge to win them back.”

The singer’s next album is about half completed, Rudolph says, and in the next few weeks, her focus will be in the studio. “She’s real excited.” There is no official release date yet, but Rudolph says an “educated guess” calls for a single released in late summer and an album in late fall.

Rudolph, who directed Spears’ career until 2003, came back on board just two months ago, the day Spears filed for divorce from Kevin Federline, 28. The singer’s self-imposed break from recording and touring “clearly” didn’t go as she had planned, he says.

Spears married Federline in 2004, and they have two sons, 1-year-old Sean Preston and 3-month-old Jayden James. Spears filed for divorce Nov. 7, “and that of itself is a sign to fans that she’s serious” about a professional comeback.

“She’s taking all the right steps,” Rudolph says. “Britney Spears will be back and absolutely at the top of the entertainment industry very soon.”

Britney will be recording until the end of January, after that, she will have finished. The album which will feature hits from producers such as Pharell Williams is slated to be released in either March/April, if not, August/September (it all depends if Britney is ready) according to Larry Rudolph, her manager.

Furthermore, Britney has been going back to the dance studio in the past couple of weeks and is excited about the upcoming tour.
