Marc S. Malkin of The Insider is now reporting that Britney Spears has turned down a lucrative offer to replace Christina Applegate in Broadway’s Sweet Charity.

Malkin quotes a source as saying that Spears seriously considered the offer, but ultimately turned it down because she did not want to uproot her family to New York or make a long commitment.

It had been reported earlier by The Insider first, then Access Hollywood that Britney Spears was in negotiations to join the musical. The New York Post then reported that if Spears signed on, the entire production would be moved to the larger Hilton Theater.

Sweet Charity currently plays The Al Hirschfeld Theater and stars Christina Applegate, Denis O’Hare and Ernie Sabella.

BRITNEY SPEARS’ one-time love rival SHAR JACKSON has lashed out at the paparazzi fascination surrounding her children - because it has turned them into kidnap targets.

Pictures of Spears’ stepchildren, KORI and KALEB, have appeared in tabloids throughout the world ever since their father, KEVIN FEDERLINE, started dating the pop superstar in April 2004 and the kids’ mother fears for their safety.

She says, “I was in the grocery store one day with Kori… and these two older women are behind us. All I hear is, ‘Oh my God, that’s Kori.’

“I turned around, like, ‘Are you for real?’ I was appalled.

“Paparazzi and other people decide that they want to take pictures and put them on the cover of magazines and things of that nature.

“In all honesty, it makes my children kidnap targets and all kinds of other stuff. People should not know what my babies look like.”

I went to a few stores today (HMV, Virgin Megastore, Woolworths, Sainsbury’s and Tesco) and none of them had a copy of “B In The Mix” in stock.

Apparently though, HMV and Virgin are both stocking it, but at an extremely high price. It’s £16.99 in HMV stores! I would recommend buying it online if you live in the UK.

Britney Spears can’t wait to show off her new slimming body as she bounced back into shape after the birth of her son, Sean Preston.

Britney Spears is reportedly in negotiations to make a post-pregnancy fitness video, where she will proudly flaunt her flat tummy.

Britney Spears, who has allegedly shed a lot of her baby weight, wants to help other mums shift the pregnancy pounds.

Pop diva and is said to be lining up a host of celebrity mothers to star in the video.

“It’s a bit of a sparse class at the moment, so Brit’s desperately trying to find other well-known new mums to star in it,” Britney Spears’s sources shared with Daily Star (UK) newspaper.

Earlier this month Britney Spears slammed rumours that she had a tummy tuck to help her get back in shape.

Britney Spears, who is married to Kevin Federline whom she happily hugs in their first official post-pregnancy photos, has also dismissed speculation she is depressed.

“She is not depressed, nor has she had a tummy tuck. She is a 23-year-old mum who was in amazing shape before she got pregnant and was able to get back in shape after the baby arrived,” Leslie Sloane Zelnick, Britney Spears’s rep, was quoted as saying.

Forget the turkey. When Britney Spears and Kevin Federline prepared to host their families at their Malibu home for what the singer calls “a pretty traditional Thanksgiving dinner” this year, the star attraction was bound to be the couple’s own little butterball, 11-week-old Sean Preston. Britney’s plan for her first Thanksgiving as a mom? Plenty of resting. “We will probably watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving day parade on TV in the morning,” says Spears, “and then spend the afternoon hanging out with family - and eating, of course!”

The cozy holiday follows the family’s bustling trip to New York City Nov.17-19, during which Spears, 24, and Federline, 27, shopped, enjoyed a parents’ night out at hotspot Marquee and took in the Broadway musical “Sweet Charity”. (Spears has been offered the title role in the show. but neither she nor the show’s producers will comment.)

Back in Malibu, Spears’ current project, apart from motherhood, has been helping to set up the Spears Family Hurricane Relief Foundation to aid victims of Hurricane Katrina. “It will assist in the rebuilding of homes, removal of trees and debris, fixing roofs, support after-school programs and provide clothing,” says Spears, who was moved by accounts of friends and family in the region. She is also counting her blessings and already looking ahead to Sean Preston’s first Christmas. After the last of the pie has been polished off, “we will ask everyone to help us with the finishing touches with our Christmas decorations around the house,” she says. “I already started putting up a few of the decorations myself because I couldn’t wait!”

BRITNEY SPEARS and KEVIN FEDERLINE are hitting back at reports their one-year marriage is in trouble by posing for their first happy family photo with baby SEAN PRESTON.

America’s People magazine landed the scoop of the smiling couple, clutching their son, and the picture will appear on the front of the Thanksgiving week edition.

It’s the first family photo, taken at the couple’s home in Malibu, California, of the pop star and her family.

In the accompanying interview, Spears talks about her first Thanks giving plans as a mum - the family will watch the famous Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on TV and then decorate their seaside home for Christmas (05).

Britney’s remix album “B In The Mix” was released today in America. You can buy it at all good retailers.

Also, sorry there haven’t been many updates, there’s nothing to update about!

As from yesterday, you can legally download “B In The Mix” from Itunes UK.

However, the album isn’t physically released until next monday, meaning if you choose to download the album it won’t count towards the final chart position which will be announced a week on Sunday.

So I suggest that if you’re planning on buying the album, you wait until next week and purchase the CD!

She may be taking a break from the studio, but could new mom Britney Spears be headed for Broadway?

Access Hollywood has learned Britney is in deep talks to make her Broadway debut in the current revival of “Sweet Charity.”

The 23-year-old pop princess-turned-mom would replace Christina Applegate in the title role of the unlucky-in-love dancer, Charity, according to reports.

But Britney might not be making the jump to the big stage by herself.

Hubby Kevin Federline may be joining the show as well as producers are reportedly very much interested in Britney and are willing to do whatever it takes to make it happen.
