Britney Spears is to produce and star in a new film called ‘Door to Door’.

MTV.com reports that the film is based on the novel by Tobi Tobin and tells of a wannabe starlet who leaves her small hometown to model in New York before travelling to Los Angeles.

She becomes involved with a famous actor but also works the door at her friend’s club, where opportunities present themselves.

Spears made her movie debut in ‘Crossroads’ and is also reported to be in talks to star in a new comedy called ‘In the Pink’.

Britney Spears presented Madonna with a career achievement award at France’s biggest music awards, hosted by European radio group NRJ on Saturday (January 24). Madonna received a standing ovation from the audience as she accepted the award. Madonna said, “My ambition may be American, and I may have married a Brit, but my heart belongs to France.”

Dido took home two awards, for best international female artist and international artist of the year. Other winners included Justin Timberlake, who grabbed best international male artist; and Elton John and Blue, who shared the award for international song of the year for “Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word.” In addition, Evanescence got the award for international breakthrough artists of the year.

Performers at the event included Spears, Dido, Kylie Minogue, Seal and Beyonce Knowles.

BRITNEY Spears and Ben Affleck could become more than just good friends after a British newspaper reported the pair once had a fling.

Affleck, 31, who split with finance Jennifer Lopez, 33, last week, is reported to be reigniting his torch for the In the Zone singer – herself a recent divorcee.

A source told The Daily Star the showbiz pair had an affair before the Daredevil actor began dating Lopez.

“Ben and Britney were rumoured to have had a fling while she was still dating Justin Timberlake, but before he hooked up with Jennifer”, the source said.

“Neither will confirm the fling, but they’ve been friends for some time and Ben even invited Britney to his wedding that never happened”.

The source also told the newspaper Affleck often chatted with Britney on the phone and still harbours a “a crush” for the sexy, blonde popstar.

News of the possible romance is sure to add to Lopez’s sadness over the split from her Gigli co-star and fiancee of 14 months.

The actress/singer has revealed she is “broken-hearted” over the end of the relationship.

Speaking about the break-up for the first time, Lopez told Victoria Gotti, editor of American tabloid Star, the relationship ended over a dinner she has nicknamed “The Last Supper”, on January 19.

“I am extremely broken-hearted,” Lopez told Gotti, “I put enormous effort into my relationship with Ben, but in the end, I realised I needed to put my personal and professional life back together.”

The Jersey Girl star also claimed she was still planning her wedding up to the moment they broke-up.

Although a spokesperson for Lopez has since denied her client spoke to Gotti, the editor is standing by her story.

“The quotes are unequivocally and completely above-board and on the record,” she said.

Lopez reportedly decided to call it quits after Affleck admitted he was not ready to set a date to tie the knot.

The couple’s differences, though, have been many. They were reportedly unable to agree on where to live and Lopez was reported to disapprove of Affleck’s penchant for gambling.

Twenty-two-year-old Spears, however, could prove a better love match for casino-loving Affleck.

The singer is, herself, a fan of America’s gambling capital, Las Vegas, choosing to tie the knot there with childhood friend John Alexander after a wild night partying, before getting divorced 55-hours later.

In the newspaper today, it said that when the Pepsi commercial launches in the UK next month, Britney will get the penthouse, worth £1,500 a night, Beyonce will have the suite below Britney which costs £1000 a night, and Pink and Enrique have to make do with £800 a night rooms. Britney Spears, Beyonce and Pink have teamed up on a new version of the Queen hit We Will Rock You.

The pop divas re-recorded the song with the remaining members of Queen.

They have performed it specially for a new Pepsi advert in which they play Roman gladiators.

Guitarist Brian May said: “It was fantastic that they wanted to use We Will Rock You as the track.

“It was a big thrill – Britney Spears, Beyonce and Pink singing a Queen track, I got to play guitar and Roger Taylor got to play drums. It couldn’t have been more fun.”

Pepsi says the girls have brought their own unique style to the new version, which was recorded in Rome.

The three will be flying in to London next month for the advert’s global premiere.

BRITNEY got miffed when she had to snog a fat, middle-aged man in her latest video Toxic.
She had a wish list of hunks for the job. But director JOSEPH KAHN insisted on the slob.

He said: “Britney loves kissing pretty guys but I eventually chose the fat one in the video. She was not happy.”

Meanwhile, Britney has added new dates to her snappily titled UK Onyx Hotel Tour 2004. Tickets go on sale at 9am tomorrow.
